St. Francis of Assisi is recipient of the C.A.H.P.E.R.D Award given for a quality Physical Education Program. The P.E. program focuses on themes that enhance a child's physical development from Grades K thru 7. Students participate in a wide variety of outdoor activities including hiking, cross-country skiing, snowshoeing, swimming and skating lessons.
Indoor classes focus on the development of skills for games such as volleyball and basketball.
Track and Field and Cross Country activities are also offered which promote a healthy lifestyle and cardiovascular development.
Extra curricular sports activities are an extension of the Physical Education program. Children are given the opportunity to participate and represent the school on the cross-country team, volleyball teams, basketball teams and track and field teams. Children are expected to attend games, meets and practices for these events.
